Vox Pop is pleased to announce a special evening of acoustic music with Jackson Emmer. Jackson is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer from Carbondale, Colorado. His work blends humor with heartache, and tradition with exploration. Emmer’s writing is often compared to that of John Prine and Guy Clark. He has toured the US since 2009, collaborated with Grammy-winners, and co-written 40+ songs with folk music legend, Tom Paxton.
Opening the evening will be recent Tulsa (via Michigan) transplant, Joey Frendo. Frendo and his wife moved to Oklahoma after Lizzie got a job in Tulsa in 2020. Since then, he’s watched the seedlings of his songwriting craft blossom into that of a veteran storyteller. Relocating has allowed Frendo to “start fresh” and hone his craft amid a strong music scene for singer-songwriters “in the roots music realm.” Frendo released his debut solo EP “Stone Mason’s Son” last fall, and he’s become a regular at hallowed Tulsa venues like Mercury Lounge.
